Horseback Riding And Tourism

When looking to find a good way of entertainment, one should strive to combine the most pleasant and the most useful, I believe. As for me, I'm the one who is a lot into getting sport, entertainment and health all at once : ) Here is the way how I learnt to combine them - "horseback tourism". But let's start from the beginning.

Horses Have been Around for Years

As you have probably heard, communicating with horses has an extremely positive effect on us, both physical and spiritual. Humans have always been really close to these animals. No wonder that with time, horses were not only helping people with work, but also cured them and were a source of joy and aesthetics. Note how popular and effective the hippotherapy became. Today these wonderful animals can be met everywhere - they are helping a hardworking peasant in the country, they take part in reckless races, they are in the center of graceful competitions in show jumping and dressage, and they are simply available for communication with amateurs. Many works of art have been dedicated to horses too, bee it painting or ancient sculpture. Horses are popular indeed.

What You Need Is

Yet, if we are talking about ways to have a great rest and even more fun – why not go for such a new kind of tourism as horseback tourism. Every day this kind of entertainment gets more and more fans around the world. In fact, that’s much more interesting and exciting than just travelling in closed cars or dragging a heavy rucksack on your back. Contrary to common beliefs, horse-riding is available for people of all ages. That’s a good way to escape from the everyday routine of a big city and get fully absorbed in the nature. Of course, some basic skills are needed, like being able to sit in the saddle, but it’s easy to master.

Where

Routes for horse-riding usually run across mountain paths, through steppes, valleys, they lay on the banks of rivers and lakes – in other words, everywhere where your eye would enjoy the surroundings. For example, a lot of such tours are organized in Russia, where the nature is diverse and suitable, and where there are a lot of native population who have been rearing horses for many years, e.g. in Bashkiria, Buryat Republic, Altai or Siberia.

The Adventure

During such tours the ‘travellers’ have to take care of the horses and cook food themselves. Normally they sleep in tents right where the night caught them. Of course all that is accompanied by cordial talks, singing by the fire and lots of laughter. Sometimes, though, the tourists stay at camping sites too. But I think sleeping in tents gives more feeling of wild adventure.

Thus, the animal that was tamed more than six thousand years ago today brings us so much happiness and is so needed. Is that the right way of entertainment for you? If not, what would you prefer?
